Resident Evil Village PC Patch Will Be Available Soon

Capcom has confirmed that a patch for the PC release of Resident Evil Village will be with us "soon". This follows reports suggesting that the DRM-free cracked version of the horror game performs much better, with the pirated copy not having the stuttering issue of the official release.

Speaking to TheGamer, a representative of Capcom said: "The team are working on a patch to address PC performance issues, it should be available soon – we’ll have more details shortly."

While performance issues have plagued the PC port since its launch, it gained renewed attention earlier this week after many spotted that some areas of the game were improved in the pirated version of the game. The DRM used by Capcom got the blame, as it was the absence of that which seemed to fix the longstanding performance issues.

Capcom responded to this news quickly, putting out a statement yesterday that the news had indeed been heard, and a fix would be on the way. Less than a day later, a spokesperson for the gaming giant can already confirm that the patch will be here "soon". While of course, the stuttering problems had been known to players for some time, it's unsurprising that it's this news that got the ball rolling – Capcom certainly won't want players seeing a pirated copy of its game as the superior product.
