The adventure game Road 96 from indie developer DigixArt is out now for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store.
There are numerous adventures, but it is unusual for a so-called walking simulator to have a procedural evolution as is the case of Road 96. It’s the latest project from the co-director of Ubisoft Montpellier’s emotive Valiant Hearts: The Great War.
DigixArt, a French studio recently purchased by Koch Media, is pleased to announce the release of their new game, a new walking-simulation adventure game on Nintendo Switch and PC.

Road 96 is an adventure game with survival features centered on a continually developing tale in which players must flee an authoritarian dictatorship on the verge of collapse.
The plot of the game is disclosed to the player progressively with each attempt to flee the nation. The game draws influence from ’90s road movie genre films from names like Quentin Tarantino, the Coen Brothers, and Bong Joon-ho.
Road 96 is DigixArt’s most ambitious project to date, and it is being led by veteran developer Yoan Fanise (Valiant Hearts, Memories Retold). The Steam demo was one of the top five most downloaded demos during the Steam Next Fest last June, out of over 700 demonstrations, receiving praise from reviewers and gamers alike.
Road 96 is now available for $19.96 on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
