Released in 2015 to widespread critical acclaim, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an open-world, fantasy RPG featuring a sprawling, lived-in medieval world full of interesting characters. Apart from the series’ protagonist and titular witcher, Geralt of Rivia, The Witcher 3 includes various sorceresses, barons, and kings to round out its engaging setting.
One such beloved character is Yennefer of Vengerberg, a sorceress and potential love interest of Geralt. With her raven-dark hair, pale skin, and violet eyes, Yennefer’s striking character design has captured the imagination of many fans. The stunning sorceress is often used for The Witcher cosplays, but occasionally fans will make other types of artistic adaptations.

Using an incredible cartoon-like style, Reddit user fhariri has created a memorable version of the powerful mage. Featuring Yennefer’s eye-catching alternate outfit, which was released as a free DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, fhariri’s digital art dazzles with bold colors, subtle shading, and a tasteful, minimalist approach.
The piece has been a hit with the Witcher Reddit community, earning over 144 upvotes as of this writing. Other Reddit users are praising fhariri’s original take and unique, cartoonish style. Fans are poking fun at the romances available in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, claiming that they never liked the alternative choice of the red-haired mage Triss Merigold anyways.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s expansive world, deep lore, and engaging characters consistently inspire fans to produce their own takes on the beloved series. While cosplays tend to be the most common, owing to The Witcher’s excellent costume and character design, it is refreshing to see such impressive art being produced, particularly when it is done in a unique style such as fhariri’s work.
Of course, there are plenty of other video game franchises that also drive aspiring fans to create their own art pieces. Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us series’ narrative and character-driven approach also seems to lend itself well to various fan-made content, like amazing anime-style art for both The Last of Us titles.
Still, there is something about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s dark and deep fantasy world that continues to inspire fans to create content, even six years after the release of the celebrated title. With the next-gen version of The Witcher 3 expected to launch sometime this fall alongside the much anticipated season 2 of the Netflix adaptation, expect to see more creative art pieces like fhariri’s in the near future.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions in development.
