Every Video Game Release Coming Soon For PS5 And PS4 | Game Rant

The gaming industry never sleeps. Each month of every year contains at least a handful of noteworthy games from major studios, along with a slew of indie projects that aim to satisfy a niche audience. Naturally, that extends to Sony's consoles, particularly right now as the libraries for both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 expand simultaneously.

So far, 2021 has seen the release of Hitman 3, Returnal, Resident Evil Village, and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, just to name a few of the year's best PS5 and PS4 games, and 2022 is still quite a while away. Regardless of whether someone's preferred system, their future is packed with exciting games. While some PS5 games have release dates, others have only been announced with tentative plans.

Which PS5 game is coming soon to shelves around the world?

Disclaimer: Please note that the listed release dates are for North America. Substantial expansions and DLC releases will also be included.

Updated August 2nd, 2021: With its one-year anniversary approaching, the PS5 is starting to really pick up steam. Naturally, the console's resume will only improve with each passing month, especially since platforms tend to not reach their peak until a few years in. What PS5 and PS4 games have been recently announced for 2021? What titles will dominate the discourse in 2022?

Over the last week, the following games were either announced for Sony's PlayStation consoles or added to this scheduler: Assassin's Creed Valhalla: The Siege of Paris, Maneater: Truth Quest, Baldo: The Guardian Owls, Godfall: Fire & Darkness, Mortal Shell: The Virtuous Cycle, Port Royale 4, Orbals, CrossCode: A New Home, Murder Mystery Machine, ConnecTank, Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye, Blue Reflection: Second Light, Truck Driver: Premium Edition, Marvel's Avengers – Black Panther: War for Wakanda, A Memoir Blue, World War Z: Aftermath, Street Outlaws 2: Winner Takes All, Dreams – Ancient Dangers: A Bat’s Tale.

Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 5 and Online will officially join the ninth console generation. Despite GTA 5 and Online debuting in 2013, the games remain inescapable, particularly the multiplayer version. In November, Final Fantasy 14 will release its fourth expansion, Endwalker. The MMO's last expansion, Shadowbringers, came out on July 2, 2019. Just Dance 2022 might not be everyone's cup of tea, but the rhythm franchise has a substantial following. JRPG fans have Blue Reflection: Second Light to look forward to, a sequel to 2017's Blue Reflection. Although far from perfect, the original title showed a lot of promise that the sequel will hopefully build upon.

Taking place 15 years following the events of the first game, Dying Light 2: Stay Human is set in "The City," an open-world map containing dangers around every corner. Dying Light 2 looks set to beat Dead Island 2 to the finishing line.

Plenty of PS5 and PS4 games have been announced for 2021 that have yet to receive a release date. From massive PlayStation exclusives like Horizon Forbidden Westto exciting third-party outings such as Evil Dead: The Game and Call of Duty: Vanguard, the 2021 gaming calendar could change at a moment's notice. With so many projects still to come in 2021, it can be difficult to look beyond the end of the year. However, 2022 will be huge for the PS5 since, by that point, the PS4's release schedule should slow down considerably. Hogwarts Legacy and The Lord of the Rings: Gollum both have the potential to be among the best titles of their respective licenses, while DC fans have Rocksteady's Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and WB Games Montréal's Gotham Knights to look forward to. Gran Turismo 7 also needs to exist. Santa Monica's next God of War game has also been delayed until 2022, while FromSoftware's Elden Ring will be starting the year off on a fantastic note.
