Mass Effect Andromeda: Forgotten History Mission Walkthrough

One of the most interesting parts of Mass Effect Andromeda is learning about the Angara’s history and culture. As the curator of Aya’s Repository of History, Avela Kjar perhaps teaches you the most about her species. One mission in her questline is named ‘Forgotten History.’ In it, she tasks you with retrieving important Angaran relics from various habitable worlds in Andromeda.

There are only three to pick up, but finding them can be a little tricky. After all, the game's waypoint system is awkward at times. So, here is where each one is located, plus additional information needed to complete the quest.

Acquiring The Quest

Before you can do this mission, you need to finish 'Recovering the Past,' where you retrieve a helmet for Avela. If she is in Aya's Repository of History when you give her the relic, the 'Forgotten History' quest will begin.

Otherwise, you have to wait until she goes to the museum, then you can talk to her to set things in motion.

Relic On Voeld (Figurine)

This relic is in the Ja Niihk Dig Site, which is a frozen underground city. You gain access to the place after the ‘Remove The Heart’ mission.

Once you enter from the main entrance, keep heading forward until you get to the big open area. Then, drop down to the bottom and head directly left (northeast on the compass). After going that way for a bit, you’ll see a light in front of you; turn left again to enter a room filled with containers.

The relic is in the back left corner, between two boxes.

Relic On Kadara (Musical Instrument)

On Kadara, the relic is in Kurinth’s Valley. More specifically, the piece is in the northwestern corner of the map, near the edge.

The area is very rocky, and you are looking for one of the bigger mounds, identified by a pillar on top. Once you clamber up the rock, you'll notice a couple of pillars there, and in the middle of them is the artifact.

Relic On Elaaden (Star Map)

Elaaden's relic is in the northwest-most corner of the map. There's not much life at this part of the planet as it's all sand.

To find the item, you must keep driving through the nothingness. You're looking for a bunch of ruins, which are at the bottom of a sand dune. The relic you want is in the middle of the damaged structures.

Return To Avela

To finish the quest, you need to return the items to Avela on Aya. You can bring back each relic individually, but there’s no reason to unless you just want to see Avela — she is one of the game's romanceable characters, after all.

The most efficient way is to take all the pieces back at once, and the Angaran will tell you more about them. Plus, later, they will be placed in the Repository of History.
