A Nintendo "Gigaleak" is doing the rounds online, revealing numerous cancelled projects over the years. One of which is a Pokemon Pinball sequel for the DS, which would have launched in 2006.
While the game was never even announced, the leak suggests it would have been developed by Fuse (now known as Silverball Studios), who was responsible for Mario Pinball Land and Metroid Prime Pinball. It also would have used the online multiplayer capabilities of the DS.

Pokemon Pinball never made it off the Game Boy Advance, with the last game in the incredibly short-lived series being Pokemon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire in 2003.
The leak also reveals that some Nintendo titles were originally planned for different platforms, which may have completely changed how they played. Both Super Paper Mario and Donkey Kong Barrel Blast were set to be GameCube releases, but were pushed back as they coincided with the development and eventual launch of the Wii.
The rest of the notes in the leak are just minor details, but are still interesting little Nintendo tidbits. For example. there seemed to be a plan to distribute additional levels for the DS game New Super Mario Bros., but this never materialised. On the other hand, it appears that online play wasn't always intended for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, as the document only lists it as a consideration, rather than a completely necessary feature.
