Sifu has been confirmed to appear at Gamescom, with developer Sloclap promising "exciting news".
The official Sifu Twitter account posted a small gameplay clip on Twitter, whilst confirming that the game would be making an appearance at this year's Gamescom Opening Night Live presentation on August 27.

The Tweet said, "Ouch… a bit rusty after the break. And we've still got a few things to show before summer is over. Tune in this Wednesday on Opening Night Live for some exciting news". The clip attached to the Tweet shows Sifu in some sort of workshop before they're hit with a wooden stick and are shown dodging to retaliate. The level shown in the gameplay video hasn't been seen in any footage before, implying we'll see new footage for the game.
As for what the "exciting news" is, it's very likely that Sifu will be getting a release date announcement at Gamescom. Sifu was supposed to be releasing this year but was delayed by a few months into "Early 2022" due to polish and wanting to prevent crunch. Beyond that, there aren't many other things that would constitute "exciting news", although we'll doubtless get a new gameplay trailer during the show.
It's interesting to note that the official Sifu account was the one to announce its presence at Opening Night Live considering how Geoff Keighley has been announcing games that are making an appearance in the show over the past few days. Whether this is an indication of the size of the show, or the impact of the "exciting news" is something we'll have to wait to see.
The Tweet also promises "a few things to show before summer is over", which is likely referencing the weekly gameplay clips that the account has been posting up on Twitter since the game was originally unveiled. These clips have been our best look yet at Sifu, with one being released every week by Sloclap and showcasing the game's cinematic gameplay and combat, as well as revealing that the main character can be male or female.
